Your tour guide will show you all this and more while they concentrate on the priority – making sure you have a great time. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual, but highly professional. You’ll enjoy great Australian food cooked on the campfire and you’re welcomed (but not obliged) to lend a hand.

Day 1: Darwin to Kakadu

After joining the tour at your accommodation and meeting your guide and fellow travellers, leave Darwin and head towards Kakadu National Park. Your first adventure is a crocodile spotting cruise. Next stop for a visit at the Bark Hut Inn before continuing on into Kakadu. We cross the South Alligator River before heading to Ubirr Rock where we see classic examples of Aboriginal rock art and spectacular 360 degree views. Day 2: Kakadu to Katherine

After breakfast we will head out to explore one of the many magnificent natural attractions in the National Park, dependent on the season and weather conditions. You will have the opportunity to swim in cool clear water, walk through bush tracks and explore spectacular sandstone country. After lunch travel south out of the park into the historic mining area of Pine Creek. On the way we stop in at Edith Falls for a refreshing swim. We finish the day by traveling

Day 3: Katherine

Early start today as we make tracks to the majestic Katherine Gorge for a choice of a two hour cruise or a canoeing adventure. The waters are clear, cool and safe for swimming. After lunch travel back up towards Darwin and continue on to the campsite at Mt Bundy Station. Camp: Mt Bundy Station Permanent Campsite (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)

Day 4: Adelaide River to Darwin

This morning after breakfast depart for Litchfield National Park. Litchfield is famous for its scenic beauty, waterfalls and safe swimming. Visit Florence Falls, Wangi Falls and Buley Rockholes and walk through beautiful rainforests. On the way back to Darwin, you’ll visit the township of Batchelor and return to Darwin approximately 6.30pm. (Breakfast and Lunch)

Visit the Top End (Northern Territory) to discover Australia’s most famous national park – Kakadu. Your full day you will depart from Darwin and travel to Kakadu National Park, which covers some 20,000 square kilometers making it Australia’s largest national park.

Kakadu’s vast wetlands and ancient escarpment are home to one of Australia’s largest and most diverse bird populations and hold outstanding natural and cultural significance. Take an optional 50-minute scenic flight over the Arnhem Land Escarpment. Then join a guided cruise on Yellow Water billabong. Keep an eye out for the wildlife, including crocodiles.

See rock art sites at Nourlangie Rock. The name ‘Nourlangie’ is an anglicized version of Nawurlandja. The most famous rock art picture at Nourlangie is called Namondjok and for some Aboriginal groups he is a Creation Ancestor who now lives in the sky and can be seen only at night, when he appears as a dark spot in the Milky Way galaxy.

En route to Darwin, stop at Window on the Wetlands Visitor Centre to learn about the wildlife, seasonal changes, the various animal groups and local Aboriginal and European history. Enjoy complimentary drinks with stunning views over the floodplains.

On this full day tour you will travel from Darwin across the Marrakai Plains and journey into world-renowned Kakadu National Park, home to a profusion of birdlife and other native fauna.

View the superbly preserved Aboriginal rock paintings at Ubirr. Located on the Arnhem Land escarpment, Ubirr has been added in its own right to World Heritage status because of its anthropological and archeological value.

Following lunch, join the Guluyambi Cruise along the East Alligator River with an Aboriginal guide. Watch for a variety of birdlife and wildlife, including crocodiles. Your guide will provide an interesting commentary along the way.

Injalak Arts and Craft Association is visited only on weekdays. Injalak is not open weekends and public holidays and may be closed for cultural reasons. If Injalak is closed you’ll visit Cannon Hill and Hawk Dreaming in Kakadu. This alternative also applies when seasonal flooding and tides prevent crossing the East Alligator River.

Day 1: Darwin – Kakadu National Park – Yellow Water Depart Darwin and venture into the vast and diverse landscape of Kakadu National Park. Stop to visit Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre to learn a little about the park, its history, flora, fauna and ancient culture. Continue to Kakadu’s most famous wetland area, Yellow Water billabong for your cruise. Watch for crocodiles and the famous Kakadu birdlife. Following lunch, travel to Nourlangie Rock to view galleries of ancient Aboriginal artworks. As is evident from all the paintings, this has always been an area of great significance to local Aborigines.

Day 2: Twin Falls by Canoe Travel by 4WD to the edge of the Arnhem Land escarpment and beautiful Jim Jim Falls, the largest waterfalls in the park. Enjoy a refreshing bushwalk through monsoonal forest surrounded by towering cliffs. Continue along the winding sand track to Twin Falls Gorge where there is time to explore this remote region. Note: It’s essential you are active and able to paddle your own canoe. Should seasonal conditions not permit visit to Twin Falls, it will be replaced with visit to Maguk (Barramundi Falls).

Day 3: Kakadu National Park- Ubirr – East Alligator River Cruise – Darwin Travel to Ubirr before joining the Guluyambi Cruise on the East Alligator River. By special permission, take a short walk into Arnhem Land accompanied by an Aboriginal guide. Call into Bowali Visitor Centre, take photos of giant termite mounds and visit Window on the Wetlands Visitor Centre. Enjoy a glass of wine while watching the changing light of day over the flood plain.

Important: The walk to Jim Jim falls is quite strenuous and an excellent level of fitness is required. Recommended good hiking shoes for this walk.If seasonal conditions do not permit a visit to Jim Jim or Twin Falls it will be replaced with alternative touring. You are not permitted to swim at Twin falls.
